Clay series

On a smooth plastic surface, using different tools, I make gestures in thin wet clay listening to ever-changing music. After I found the right groove, I let it dry. Every few minutes a new image will emerge from the drying traces. These images, in which the nervous energy of the painterly gestures relates to the slowly drying clay, are captured with an I Phone. Eventually, if all goes well, and hopefully by chance, I find just the right image. If not, I start again.
